Today’s Engineers… Future Parliamentarians

By Engr. Tabish Abbasi.

Pakistan is a country where more than 60% of population is youth. Pakistan, like many other regional countries, has been facing issues due to several reasons such as lack of interest of educated youth in country’s politics, policy making process and socialism.

There was a time in Pakistan when doctor, engineers, lawyers and many other technical degree holders were thought to be working in their respective fields only, but now time has been changed. Many forums has been formed in country which helped educated youth to play their part in all fields by building interest in them and by providing them fair chances and opportunities.

After ousting of Ex Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan, Muhamamd  Nawaz Shreef, Engr Shahid Khaqan Abbasi became PM of Pakistan. An engineer Prime Minister of the country… it changed thinking of masses who always supposed that engineer could only be Engineer.

Youth Parliament (YP) Pakistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) was first of all other platforms for youth in Pakistan which developed its cabinets in every university of Pakistan.

YP Pakistan is only a platform, having representation from every university of Pakistan and AJK. Many engineers from AJK and Pakistan are members and designation holders of Youth Parliament.
